AP SET Paper 1 Syllabus (Teaching & Research Aptitude)
Paper I is common to all candidates and it is to test your general awareness, logical thinking and teaching related skills. The 50 questions are divided equally into 10 key units with 5 questions and 10 marks each .

Teaching Aptitude Nature, objectives and characteristics of teaching, learner characteristics, methods of teaching, evaluation systems.
Research Aptitude: Meaning, types and characteristics of research; research process; thesis writing; research ethics.
Reading Comprehension: Questions based on one or more unseen passages to test understanding, inference and interpretation.
Communication: Types, levels and barriers of communication, effective classroom communication.
Reasoning (Including Mathematical) Analogies, Classification, Series, Coding-Decoding, Syllogism and Basic Arithmetic.
Logical Reasoning: Arguments, deductive and inductive reasoning, Venn diagrams.
Reading data in tables, graphs and charts; percentages; ratios and trends.
Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Introduction to computers, the internet, and digital projects in higher education
People and Environment Environmental issues, natural resources, pollution, climate change, and sustainable development.
Higher Education System: Structure of higher education in India, regulatory bodies, policies and governance.

Paper II tests you on your comprehensive knowledge of the subject you have chosen for your post-graduation. The syllabus is taken from postgraduate level studies in your chosen subject .
