
MP Police Subedar Steno & ASI Ministerial Recruitment 2026: Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB), Bhopal has published the recruitment rule book for direct recruitment to Subedar (Stenographer) and Assistant Sub Inspector (Ministerial) posts under Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The recruitment is for vacancies in the General Branch, Special Branch, Field Units and the Crime Investigation Department.
Interested and eligible male and female candidates can apply online from 24th September 2026 to 8th October 2026. The application correction window will be open till 13 October 2026 and the first-stage computer-based written examination will be held from 3 November 2026.

Stenographer Subedar (Ministerial)
Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary / 10+2. Hindi shorthand at 100 words per minute from a recognized MP board / council / polytechnic / ITI or equivalent institution is also required. Hindi typing CPCT certificate is also mandatory.
The rulebook allows some alternatives in respect of computer qualification such as a DOEACC diploma level qualification, one-year COPA certificate from a recognized Government ITI, Modern Office Management qualification or a computer diploma from a UGC recognized institution.
Asst. Sub Inspector (Ministerial)
Candidates should have passed 12th Class / Higher Secondary (10+2) from any recognized board/institution. CPCT certificate for Hindi typing is necessary. Possession of prescribed computer qualification can also be by possession of specified qualification such as Engineering Degree, MCA, BCA, M.Sc. Computer Science/IT, AICTE approved Polytechnic Diploma, DOEACC diploma, COPA, Modern Office Management or recognized computer diploma.
Qualifications must be held within the prescribed eligibility period; qualifications obtained after the relevant cut-off date will not be considered.

Second Stage Practical Test – Subedar Steno
The practical test is for 100 marks duration of one hour and minimum 30% marks.
The test of Hindi shorthand shall comprise of dictation for a period of 5 minutes at a speed of 100 words per minute and thereafter transcription/typing. Two dictations of Hindi shorthand are taken. Marks: Each dictation carries 10 marks and each transcription carries 40 marks.
ASI Ministerial Practical Test – Second Stage
ASI practical test is also of 100 marks with duration of 1 hour and minimum qualifying marks of 30%. Candidates have to type two passages of 600 words each in Hindi for which 30 minutes time is given for each passage. Each passage is worth 50 points.

MP Police Recruitment 2026: Application Process
Candidates are suggested to visit the official website of MPESB and fill online application form within the stipulated dates. The different advertized posts only require one application form and eligible candidates may mention their post/cadre preferences in the application. Candidates need to fill the details relating to their education, personal and category carefully before submitting the form.
After submitting the application, candidates are required to keep the application number and payment receipt safe. Admit Card: The admit card is not sent separately by post. It is made available online on the MPESB website by using the application details.
